My favourite herb is

Lavender

(Lavendula Angustifolia)

English Lavender

 

Lavender relieves anxiety, stress, insomnia and headache. It is mildly sedative.

It improves circulation and eases mucle pain, gout and rheumatism.

It is gentle enough to be used on infants and children.

A couple of drops of lavender oil on a cotton ball, placed at the bottom of the cot can help to settle a fretful baby

 

Here are some of my favourite uses of Lavender

 

To Ease Stress

I use a few drops of lavender oil in an oil burner to help me relax and unwind in the evening.

( it can make you feel sleepy!)

 

For a relaxing foot bath

For tired aching feet try adding a few drops of lavender oil to a foot spa.

If you don't have a foot spa, marbles in the bottom of a dish of warm water works just as well. Roll your feet gently over the marbles to massage them.

 

For Insomnia

I place a sachet of dried lavender flowers under my pillow. I make these by placing a handful of lavender in a fine handkerchief and tying it with a ribbon.

 

For Headaches

I massage 1 or 2 drops of lavender oil into both temples
